First Time Visitors

Going anywhere for the first time can be an intimidating experience. The questions and answers below are designed to help first-time visitors feel more comfortable at Zion Lutheran Church; giving information about what to expect.

Will I Feel Welcome at Zion?

Zion Lutheran Church is a cross section of all kinds of people. Jesus said in John 12:32, “And I, when I am lifted up, I will draw all people to myself.” Jesus has indeed drawn all kinds of people from every age group to himself at Zion Lutheran Church. Sermons are designed to address people beginning in their faith as well as long-time believers.

You will see people like you, and a good way to get to know them better is to join in the activities at Zion as we are given opportunities to impact our community, state, nation and the world with the gift (Gospel) of Jesus Christ.

What Should I Expect Of The Services?

The Divine Service contains elements of worship such as Confession and Absolution, Scripture readings, prayer, confessing the Creeds, Communion, and a Sermon. Music includes hymns and songs led by organ, piano, and other instruments to the glory of God.  Worshippers participate by following the order of service in printed bulletins and the hymnal.

Is Going To Church Important?

While the blessings of the Internet include the opportunity to easily connect with others, share the proclamation of Christ with readers near and far, and while reading the Word through a good website is a good thing, nothing can replace gathering with a faithful congregation to receive the gifts of Christ in Word and Sacrament. God works faith through His Word, where and when He wills, but no one receives the joy of gathering with fellow believers through a screen. Likewise, the blessing of receiving the Body and Blood of Christ only happens when you gather with other Christians.

How Do I Become A Member Of Zion?

2) Confirmation Classes: Through a Christian schooling for children starting in the 6th grade and finishing in the 8th grade once a week as they are taught the Christian Faith.

3) Transfer from a sister congregation of the same Christian Faith and confessions of Zion Lutheran Church
